Stephen is a director in the Corporate and Commercial and Insolvency departments. Stephen is also head of our BVI team. Stephen advises on both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters. He has advised on a highly contentious insolvency matter in the Isle of Man courts: (1) Lombard v Spirit of Montpelier and (2) Gittins & others v Liquidator of Spirit of Montpelier. Stephen was also part of the team receiving continuing instructions from the Court appointed joint liquidators of various Louis Group companies in one of the most complex insolvencies in the Isle of Man regarding the winding up on the Louis Group companies. He is described by leading law director Legal 500 as “extremely helpful” and “well informed and thorough”. Prior to joining DQ, Stephen practised in the BVI for a number of years for leading offshore firms and also spent time in their Cayman offices.
